| Makapuu Beach Park or Makapuu Point State Wayside is a very popular beach park for family vacation on Oahu. Makapuu Beach Park, located near Sea Life Park, contains some of Oahu's favorite landmarks - the beach, the nearby lighthouse, and the shore trail. "Manana" or Rabbit Island is also another landmark around the park. |
Makapuu is the most famous beach for bodysurfing in the state. The wave can reach as high as 12 feet or higher. It also has the best shore break on the island. Due to its rough water conditions and tough currents, bodysurfing around the beach is recommended for experienced bodysurfers. But classic surfboards are prohibited.
