Halona Lookout Blowhole, located on Oahu's
south shore in Hawaii, is a natural ocean geyser. It formed
by molten lava tubes from volcanic eruptions thousands of
years ago. In fact, a blowhole is a lava tube under the
water. The water is compressed as the lava tube becomes
smaller causing the pressure to increase forcing a stream of
water to shoot up to thirty-feet into the air. This place is
around 10-15 minute drive from Waikiki. It is a spectacular
scenic stroll. |
