Maui - Home of "Lahaina", the famous whaling port and the gateway to whale watching; Haleakala Crater - known as the House of the Sun; The remote and lush paradise of "Hana"; Kaanapali Beach and the best wind surfing in the world at Hookipa.

 

Also known as "The Valley Island", Maui has a total area of 729 sq. miles - 48 miles long and 26 miles wide with 120 miles of coastline. Population is a little over 91,000 residents. The highest point is Haleakala at 10,023 ft above sea level.

Maui is the second largest island in Hawaii but Maui is the most popular destination of Hawaii. More than 2.5 million people visit Maui each year. The weather in Maui is warm and comfortable. The lifestyle is also easygoing which is perfect for your vacation.

Driving Times from Kahului Airport:
Haleakala - 1 hour 45 minutes
Hana - 2 hours 30 minutes
Kaanapali - 50 minutes
Kihei - 20 minutes
Lahaina - 45 minutes
Wailea - 35 minutes
Wailuku - 10 minutes

Every part of Maui has it's attractions. There is something for everybody on Maui. Now let's take a look at Maui map;

West Maui, including Kaanapali and Lahaina, offer many advantages to visitors of the "Valley Isle".

Kihei offers a more Hawaiian view and many good beaches.

Wailea offers the hot spots of posh resorts and a more quiet setting.

Maalaea, as you can see from this map, is more centrally located if you plan on doing a lot of traveling. It also offers a quiet  place to stay.

West Maui includes the shopping, Front St., and the old whaling town of Lahaina along with the beautiful Kaanapali beach area and Whalers Village.

Past that is the resort areas of Honokowai, Kahana, Napili and Kapalua.
