Makena Beach on Muai is the best place for
swimming as well as for snorkeling. This beach is very calm.
Facilities are more than adequate for visitors. Because it
is a large undeveloped beach, Makena Beach is a rare gem
among Hawaiian Beaches. There is an abundance of coral and
fish around the beach. |
This beautiful beach is good for bodyboarding, body surfing,
snorkeling, and other water sports. There're "Big Beach" and
"Little Beach". The division between Big Beach and Little
Beach was done by a lava flow and earthquake in 1790.

Makena Beach also called Oneloa Beach or Big Beach, is one
of the most beautiful beaches on Maui. The beach is almost a
mile long and over 100 yards wide. Big Beach is the longest
beach on Maui. Little Beach, on the other hand, is very
popular for nude beach.
