Nakalele Point is on the rough north shore of western Maui,
Hawaii. This is the most northerly area on Maui. |
The main attraction here is the famous Nakalele Blowhole.
Nakalele Blowhole erupts as the rough sea feeds it with pounding
surf. The blowhole is the result of the ocean wearing away
the shore below the lava shelf. With each wave, the water is
forced as high as 100 ft into the air through a hole.

Approaching the blowhole for better photographing spot is
not recommended. People have been killed as they was
sucked back into the hole by the retreating water from this
blowhole.
