Honolulu is a picturesque
and unique vacation destination. It’s picturesque simply
because it’s right on the beach. It’s unique because the
hotels in Honolulu offer so many amenities that there is
never a reason to leave the hotel. Some people choose to
visit Waikiki Beach, which is highly recommended, but many
others feel like there’s no reason to leave the paradise
they’re already enjoying. All of the hotels covered below
have received excellent feedback from travelers, which
should give you a good head start.
Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach
Traveler Rating: 4.5 Stars
Price: Expensive
This hotel has been around since 1955, which is the most
important factor of all. Any hotel that lasts for that
amount of time is clearly doing something right. It would be
impossible to explore all the reasons this hotel has had
such incredible success, but two of them are the outrigger
canoe rides and the overall Hawaiian culture. A few of the
most popular amenities include surfing lessons, boat
cruises, and the children’s club. If you choose to stay at
the Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach, also be sure to visit
The International Marketplace, which is within walking
distance and loaded with talented street musicians. The only
negative for the Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach is noise.
Having The International Marketplace across has its
drawbacks.
The Kahala Hotel & Resort
Traveler Rating: 4.5 Stars
Price: Expensive
The Kahala Hotel & Resort has many impressive features. It’s
the perfect wedding venue, the restaurants are exceptional,
the service is personalized, and the breakfast buffet is
loved by all. It’s also possible to take cultural classes
here, which is a great activity if you’re interested in
learning about a culture other than your own. The scenery at
The Kahala Hotel & Resort is superb. The Dolphin Lagoon is
the standout feature in that regard. Other amenities include
a pool, a fitness center, a spa, surfing lessons, and a
business center. Many guests have referred to The Kahala
Hotel & Resort as flawless. That’s tough to beat.
Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort & Spa
Traveler Rating: 4.0 Stars
Price: Moderate
What would you think of if someone asked you to imagine
paradise? The following is a good start. How about 22 acres
of lush land in Honolulu, Hawaii? It’s a land where you can
spot exotic wildlife and spend time at a private lagoon. If
that’s not good enough, you can relax on the beach or one of
5 pools. Breakfast is served on a lanai and there are luaus
almost every night. If you ever get bored, you can walk to
Waikiki Beach. Add great service, a concierge, and adjoining
rooms for large groups, and it might even exceed paradise.
This describes the Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort &
Spa.
Sheraton Waikiki Hotel
Traveler Rating: 4.0 Stars
Price: Moderate
This is the place to stay if you desire spectacular views
and the best outdoor pool in Honolulu. It’s as simple as
that. Other than these two features, the Sheraton Waikiki
Hotel is pretty basic and nothing out of the ordinary. The
prices here are listed as moderate, but for Honolulu,
they’re actually cheap. You can further reduce the price if
you’re content with a city view room. All the rooms are
spacious and have balconies. It’s a great place for
families.
Waikiki Beach Marriot Resort & Spa
Traveler Rating: 4.0 Stars
Price: Moderate
If you desire great food and fun shops, as well as close
proximity to Waikiki Beach, this is the best Honolulu hotel
for you. The dining options are plentiful, including a beach
grill and a sushi restaurant. There is also a coffee shop.
The Waikiki Beach Marriot Resort & Spa is clean and
comfortable. Many guests appreciate the impressive spa and 2
beautiful pools. The only negative is that the lines at the
front desk are almost always long.
All of the hotels listed above are near or on Waikiki Beach.
This is a very important factor for many visitors, even if
they don’t realize it prior to their arrival. The hotels in
Honolulu are impressive in many areas, but keep in mind that
they’re not secluded. All of these hotels offer active and
energetic atmospheres, although it is possible to escape to
the beach or a lagoon for some peace and quiet.
