  • Open 24 hours a day, year-round
  • Bicycles are not permitted on park trails
  • Camping is by permit only
  • There is no public transportation within the park
  • No food, water, or fuel is available along the Chain of Craters Road.
  • 96 miles from Kailua-Kona and 30 miles from Hilo
  • From Hilo: Take Highway 11 Southwest 30 miles to the park.
