Akaka Falls State Park, located 11 miles
north from Hilo (at the end of Highway 220) on the Island of
Hawai‘i, is a 442 ft. tall waterfall. There is no way to get
to the top of the waterfall or to the pool at the bottom of
the waterfall, so you can only look at it, and take
pictures. |
It's one of the most impressive of all waterfalls on Big
Island. Akaka Falls is breathtaking and beautiful.
Though Akaka Falls is the highlight of the park, it’s
recommended that visitors head to Kahuna Falls first. After
viewing Kahuna, follow the suggested trail and you'll see
Akaka!
